Mary - San Francisco

Kurt was a close neighbor and a good friend of my husband’s. Kurt Wilkins was instrumental in assisting my family through a large transition (husband passing away); downsizing and selling years of accumulated possessions, including vehicles, guns, tools, hunting and outdoor equipment, and home and garden gadgets, in preparation for a move out of state.  In total, he sold in excess of $40,000 worth of personal property for us.

Kurt took excellent photographs of each item, wrote up the ad descriptions, place the ads on CL, KSL, Facebook Marketplace and ZIdaho, took all the phones calls, showed the items to prospects and negotiated the sale and collected the money. It made it so simple and easy for us. He is a sales PRO.

By having one knowledgeable and organized person in charge of this process, we received top market value for all the items, which were researched and priced appropriately.  He provided detailed and transparent inventory lists, and kept us updated often on sales. He collected the funds and paid us quickly for all sales. He also assisted us in finding a furniture consignment company in Eagle which sold our vintage Rosewood dining set, at a good price.

Unfortunately, we selected an estate sale company to dispose of our remaining household items. Fortunately, Kurt had already sold all the more expensive and desirable personal property at full retail and due to movers coming, we had a choice between a garage sale or estate sale to sell the remaining furnishings. They sold the balance for pennies on the dollar and we were very disappointed in that company. Kurt spoiled us.

Kurt recommended 3 top Realtors in our area and ultimately made an introduction to the Realtor we selected to sell our house or top dollar; we were grateful for the recommendations. It sold on the first weekend shown for more than the listed price.

Before retiring. Kurt had been an active real estate broker in our area for almost 4 decades, so all of his recommendations were top notch. He has since re-opened his real estate office.

Kurt's positive and steady outlook was so appreciated during a stressful period for my family; he made what could have been a chaotic and time-consuming process very seamless and easy for us.

We would without hesitation recommend Kurt Wilkins services to anyone that needs help selling virtually anything.

Alice - Nampa

When my husband passed away, I was left with a lot of possessions that I would never us. My neighbor, Kurt Wilkins advised me that over the years he has posted a lot of ads on Craig’s List and asked if I would like him to post on Craig’s List for me. Kurt’s technique is very effective, as you will see from my experience in in getting a boat sold for me.

Before posting the boat, Kurt got all the paperwork I had on the boat. We had the boat detailed, so it was squeaky clean. Kurt then took over 30 pictures of the boat. Before he posted it, he did a lot of research on what the boat would sell for new and what the prices were for used ones both on Craig’s List and current NADA book values for identical boats. His write-up included everything a prospective buyer would want to know. The asking price was almost equal to what my husband had paid for the Ranger Bass Boat in 2017. Within half an hour of posting, Kurt had a call from Eastern Idaho and he purchased the boat for the full asking price.

Here is the irony. My husband had terminal cancer and before he passed, he went back to the Nampa boat dealer where he purchased the boat and asked him to take good care of me (his wife), when he passed and to give her a good price for the boat. I contacted that dealer and he offered me $20,000 for the boat. Kurt Wilkins sold it for $15,000 more.

Kurt has sold many other additional items for me, since the boat. Lots of sporting goods, guns and even some trophy big game mounts my husband harvested. In total, about $43,000 worth to date and I still have a Ford pickup I will have him sell. He doesn’t just slap a one sentence ad on Craig’s List. All items sold have had multiple professional pictures, plus a thorough, well written write up, which the buyers really seem to appreciate. When they come to look at the items, they are exactly as advertised. All of the sales have resulted in cash, except for the boat, which was paid for with a direct wire transfer to my bank.

He also sold my husband’s almost new Ford pickup with about 7,000 miles for the full NADA retail price to the second buyer who looked at it. It sold for another $37,000.

Kurt goes out of his way to be helpful. With the boat, Kurt even accompanied me to my bank beforehand, so I could understand how a wire transfer worked and if it was safe for me to use. My banker assured me it was an excellent way to receive large sums. The bank was informed about the pending transfer and after providing the required information, the transfer went through smoothly and quickly, well in advance of when the boat was picked up by the buyer.

In addition to advertising on Craig’s List, Kurt also posts ads on KSL in SLC, Facebook Marketplace and ZIdaho, so the items get maximum exposure online. I don’t think you will find anyone better to help you than Kurt Wilkins. He is honest and trustworthy.
